People call me Guard. I am a bay-colored American Quarter Horse. I have a reddish body and black mane. I am known around Stable-Spirit for my strong spirit and unique journey. My early years were spent as a prison horse, before moving on to ranch work where I learned the value of teamwork and resilience. In 2024, I found my new calling as a therapy horse at Stable-Spirit. I share leadership of the guys around here, helping to care for my friends with confidence and love.

Everyone – horse or human – that comes to Stable-Spirit has a different journey. I have navicular syndrome, a condition in my front hooves that means I need special shoes to ease the pain, but that doesn’t stop me from helping others. My determination and leadership help bring comfort and hope to everyone I meet!
